Studio Lights – The start of fine tuning my new studio
Well, yeah… you have heard it before… I am back. And I hear you say with a chunk of skeptisism in your voice “of course he is!”. Well it’s happening… I have 2 new works about to hit the canvas. But before I let you know about that… I have a new studio to tell you about…
As you know, we have moved and I now have a new studio to ‘tweak’. Its a great room with a high sloping ceiling; natural TnG wood walls and floor to ceiling windows on two of the walls. It has also an adjoining bathroom with sink (essential for a studio). Im really excited about it as it pretty much meets all my needs except for one thing…
The lighting… Yes; there is serious room for improvement there. When I choose to paint at night, I need some GOOD lighting. At the moment there are two halogen spots at each end of the room. Barely enough to read by. So some serious thought has gone into the options available.
After some thought I have opted for some flash ‘new technology’ fluros. These are electronic and are more energy efficient, last longer and give out a soft, clear light. They don’t flicker like traditional fluros also. I am teaming them up with some new daylight ‘full spectrum’ bulbs. It will be soooo good to have some great light again.
Well… enough of my musings about light. I can’t wait for them to be installed… Then “LET THERE BE LIGHT!!!”
