Friday again and Work of Art : The Next Great Artist

Well… Friday again and I have been doing it again… arrrgh… spreading myself too thin preparing multiple projects at the same time!!! I have a book cover; a foliage painting; an urban building painting and a graphic design for a bed head underway. Yikes!!!… all at the concept/prep stage so it looks like nothing is happening… but it is!

On an aside, I have been watching Bravo TV’s ‘Work of Art : The Next Great Artist’. I’m really enjoying it and find myself wondering… How would I cope if I was given these challenges with such limited time.

SPOILER ALERT : Don’t read on if you haven’t watch episodes yet as I talk about who has been eliminated up to episode 4.

I definitely have my favourite artists. It will be interesting to see if my 2 favourites make it to the final (Abdi and Miles). Abdi has a great viewpoint and I think is a real talent. His works have an energy that I love.

Miles… well I haven’t worked him out yet. I think some of his work is great, but sometimes needs editing. His personality is also what I haven’t worked out yet. I know TV only gives a perception of the person as is edited. So I’m still unsure there. 

I was disapointed to see Trong and John go. I would have loved to see them progress as I think they would have delivered some great works.

I’m watching another episode tonight. Essential viewing!!!
